SAGE – Deadline for Objections to Proposed Gravel Quarries near Stisted Extended to 5.00 pm on Tuesday 9 April

There has been significant public interest in the Essex Minerals Local Plan Review consultation. The council have therefore extended the deadline for submitting applications. The closing date is now 5.00 pm on Tuesday 9th April. If you are sending in a paper copy by post, please allow several days for post to ensure it arrives on time

SAGE 2024 Working Group 21 February 7.30 Village Hall

Stisted Against Gravel Extraction 2024 There will be an open meeting at 7.30 on 21 February in Stisted Village Hall to discuss the recently announced Essex Minerals Plan. Information will be available on the three proposed sites that are at the end of Kings Lane and adjacent to Water Lane (see map below) This working group will help to prepare responses to submit to Essex County Council for the consultation on the plan. Dust Cart for Residents – 10 February at 10.00am

The Parish Council have arranged for a Dust Cart to visit Stisted on the morning of Saturday 10 February at 10.00 a.m. for 2 hours. We are planning for it to be in the usual place on Church walk to allow space for villagers to bring their items Note the new restrictions: Due to the new Environment Agency Regulations, the Dust Cart cannot accept any Persistent Organic Pollutents (POP’s) as the materials will go to landfill. Educational Grants for Young People from The Earls Colne and Halstead Educational Charity

The Charity assists young people up to the age of 25 in any sphere of educational activity, outside of mainstream education. Braintree District Council approves Updated Policy for Household Waste and Recycling Collections from 1 April

Councillor Tom Cunningham, Cabinet Member for Transformation, the Environment and Customer Services, and Deputy Leader at Braintree District Council, has said: “We all need to think about what we buy and take greater responsibility for reducing the amount of household waste we produce and recycle as much as we can. Wednesday 22nd November 2023 Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner’s Braintree District Public Meeting

Residents and businesses from across the whole of Braintree district are invited to find out more about crime and community safety in the district at a public meeting hosted by Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst. Attendees will also have the opportunity to put their questions and concerns to a panel of experts.
