The Parish Council have arranged for a Dust Cart to visit Stisted on the morning of Saturday 10 February at 10.00 a.m. for 2 hours. We are planning for it to be in the usual place on Church walk to allow space for villagers to bring their items
Note the new restrictions:
Due to the new Environment Agency Regulations, the Dust Cart cannot accept any Persistent Organic Pollutents (POP’s) as the materials will go to landfill. If these items are taken to the local recycling centre they can then be handled in the appropriate way. In line with guidance from the Environment Agency, a separate container is provided to ensure the correct disposal of these items at recycling centres. This is in addition to the usual list of types, paints etc
Items that cannot be accepted by the Dust Cart include
- Rubber tyres
- Building materials, including plasterboard gypsum, asbestos, and asbestos bonded concrete.
- Oils
- Paints and resins
- Gas Cylinders
- Sofas, sofa beds, futons armchairs and cushions
- Any kitchen, dining room or home office chairs with upholstery
- Bean Bags and Floor Cushions
- Any furniture where any part is made of or containing leather, synthetic leather, other fabric or foam.
- General Textiles
- Electrical items, including fridges
- NO timber as used for building, fencing and pallets etc.
Large items of garden waste such as large branches should be taken to the local recycling centre where they can be recycled
The Parish Council will be investigating and possible other help for garden waste in the future if necessary
